<h2>Setting the Mood</h2> You are adult learners who are either already educators or studying to be one in an Instructional Design Workshop aimed at building interest and understanding in new models of teaching and learning with technology. To introduce new learning theories as well as provide an ongoing resource for identifying each theory, we are going to split into groups and create videos that capture the essence of your groups selected theory (rules for the video will be described below). <br /> <br /> <h2>Groups</h2> <table class="wiki_table"> <tr> <th>Group 1<br /> </th> <th>Group 2<br /> </th> <th>Group 3<br /> </th> <th>Group 4<br /> </th> </tr> <tr> <td><span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11pt;">Katy Cornell</span><br /> <span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11pt;"> Peggy Stagge</span><br /> <span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11pt;"> Noah Kreisher</span><br /> </td> <td><span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11pt;">Theresa Aberle</span><br /> <span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11pt;"> Tim Navaro</span><br /> <span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11pt;"> Janet Zydney</span><br /> </td> <td><span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11pt;">Ted Jewell</span><br /> <span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11pt;"> Kelsey June</span><br /> <span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11pt;"> Danny Scheetz</span><br /> <span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11pt;"> Karen Skelton</span><br /> </td> <td>Tuncer Akbay<br /> Krista Girrasi<br /> Becky Sheehy<br /> Erol Uzan<br /> </td> </tr> </table> <br /> <h2>Instructions</h2> <span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 22px;">In your groups you will research the theory that you randomly select, create 2 or 3 questions for your classmates about this theory and record a skit that follows the guidelines below. Using the flip cam we will hand out to groups, you will record a short video skit to demonstrate the major characteristics or principles of your groups theory.</span><br /> <br /> Here is a handy website to help you out researching your theory:<span style="line-height: 20px;"> <a class="wiki_link_ext" href="http://tip.psychology.org/theories.html" rel="nofollow">**http://tip.psychology.org/theories.html**</a></span><br /> <br /> You will have 30 minutes to research your theory, create your questions and record your skit.<br /> <ul><li>Your video should be as close the <strong><em>one minute</em></strong> as possible</li><li>You MAY NOT say or write the name of the theory or theorist in your skit</li><li>You MAY act out parts, record the computer screen, or make graphics for your video with the paper and markers provided.</li><li>You MAY use props if you have any available.</li></ul><br /> <br /> <h2>Theories and Theorists</h2> Your group will randomly select one of the following Theories<br /> <ol><li><a class="wiki_link_ext" href="http://tip.psychology.org/sweller.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Sweller (Cognitive Load Theory)</a></li><li><a class="wiki_link_ext" href="http://tip.psychology.org/lave.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Lave (Situated Learning)</a></li><li><a class="wiki_link_ext" href="http://tip.psychology.org/spiro.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Spiro (Cognitive Flexibility)</a></li><li><a class="wiki_link_ext" href="http://tip.psychology.org/bandura.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Bandura (Social Learning Theory)</a></li><li><a class="wiki_link_ext" href="http://tip.psychology.org/bruner.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Bruner (Constructivist Theory)</a></li><li><a class="wiki_link_ext" href="http://tip.psychology.org/wertheim.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Wertheimer (Gestalt Theory)</a></li><li><a class="wiki_link_ext" href="http://tip.psychology.org/schank.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Schank (Script Theory)</a></li><li><a class="wiki_link_ext" href="http://tip.psychology.org/gagne.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Gagne (Conditions of Learning)</a></li><li><a class="wiki_link_ext" href="http://tip.psychology.org/paivio.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Paivio (Dual Coding Theory)</a></li><li>(<a class="wiki_link_ext" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Objectivism_%28Ayn_Rand%29" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Objectivism</a>)</li></ol>
